Tempelhofer Feld - Eintrag als Weltkulturerbe beantragen
Das Tempelhofer Feld ist ein weltweit einzigartiges Areal mit allergrößter Bedeutung für Berlin und weit über Berlin hinaus. Im Koalitionsvertrag des neuen Senats wird wieder offen über eine sogenannte "behutsame Randbebauung" nachgedacht. Das wäre das Ende des Tempelhofer Feldes in seiner einzigartigen Gestalt. Um das zu verhindern gilt es das gesamte Areal schnellstmöglich und dauerhaft zu schützen. Darum fordere ich, dass Tempelhofer Feld als UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe eintragen zu lassen und es so langfristig zu schützen.
Warum ist das wichtig?
Dieser historisch so wichtige Ort sollte für alle Menschen in der Welt in Zukunft sichtbar und erlebbar bleiben. Für viele Menschen ist "das Feld" ein Ort , an dem in dieser Weltstadt ein Gefühl von Weite, Freiheit und Gemeinschaft erlebbar ist.
Die UNESCO bietet herausragendem Kultur- und Naturerbe weltweit Schutz und Förderung. "Grundidee der Welterbekonvention und der aus ihr resultierenden Welterbeliste ist es, Natur- und Kulturerbestätten von außergewöhnlichem universellem Wert für die gesamte Weltgemeinschaft für gegenwärtige und zukünftige Generationen zu bewahren."
Der Eintrag in die Liste als Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO gewährt dem Tempelhofer Feld langfristig Schutz vor baulicher Umwidmung und Spekulation.

Tempelhofer Feld is a globally unique site of great importance for Berlin and far beyond. The coalition agreement of the new Berlin Senate is once again openly considering a so-called "cautious peripheral development" of the Tempelhofer Feld. This would spell the end to the Tempelhofer Feld in its current unique form. To prevent this, the entire area must be protected as quickly and permanently as possible. That is why I am calling for Tempelhofer Feld to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and thus protected for the long term.
Why is this important?
The Tempelhofer Feld is a place of great historical significance and it should remain as such, apparent and accessible to all people from around the world. For many Berliners, the former airport is a place where a sense of space, freedom and community can be experienced in this cosmopolitan city.
UNESCO offers protection and support to outstanding cultural and natural heritage sites worldwide. "UNESCO seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity."
Adding Tempelhofer Feld to the UNESCO World Heritage List provides the site with long-term protection against structural conversion and speculation.
